Our Story

The Adventure Inn is your gateway to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness (BWCAW) and the Superior National Forest. Year-round outdoor enthusiasts will enjoy a host of unparalleled opportunities for adventure. Summer brings gorgeous vistas for canoeing, hiking, backpacking, camping, and biking. With winter comes breathtaking beauty and tranquility while enjoying skiing, snowshoeing, ice fishing, skating, dog sledding or snowmobiling.

Our Inn is located in the heart of Ely, Minnesota. We will make your stay here memorable and relaxing with fresh roasted coffee, organic cotton sheets and north woods decor.

We are a green motel dedicated to our guest’s comforts while lessening our impact on the environment. The Adventure Inn is a proud member of Green America and the Green Hotels Association. Stories from the Inn...

When you come to stay with us at the Adventure Inn, you will find we are a family package. Our two sons work with us every day during the Summer. One of their jobs is to empty a room of garbage, sort the recyclables, gather bedding and so on. In order to keep them motivated, at times, you will see them doing all of this with their roller blades. If ever you need help loading your car or carrying items for you, just flag them down as they would be happy to help.
